I'm Out

So, I didn't even make it two weeks in this crazy NaComLeaMo and I'm already behind and bowing out of the commitment. I just can't seem to leave 6 comments a day. I had a great strategy. I started at the top of the list and went methodically down 5 every day. That way I would be sure to comment on everybody's blogs and not leave anyone out. I was doing great for the first week, then I missed a day and tried to catch up and then forgot where I left off and then accidentily skipped over a couple and then and then and then....

I am really loving all the feedback and comments. I'm loving reading all these new blogs and getting to know all these new peeps, but I just can't keep up the pace with everything else I have going on in my life. I sooooo admire those doing this that can keep up with the commenting pace or even better be an Iron Commenter. I just don't have it in me.

So here is my new goal. I will leave one comment on every blog on this list. It just might take me awhile. I will try very hard to do it in a timely manner, but I can't make any promises.

Sorry, I hope I didn't disappoint too many people. Please keep commenting on my blog if you feel so inclined. I do so love connecting with you.

I so understand. I am sorely tempted, often, to pull out. It seems to take up an inordinate amount of time, and though I enjoy connecting with so many more people than usual, I do feel the time pressure. Maybe if I had a year.

I may yet pull the plug myself, but for now, the perfectionist in me that can't leave a thing uncompleted, is spurring me on...

Heck. Gotta do whatcha gotta do, right? NCLM is supposed to be challenging AND fun, not discouraging and stressful. The only way I'm keeping up is that I copied the list into an Excel spreadsheet so I can note the day I left a comment next to each blog. Bonus: the links copied too, so I can just click from the spreadsheet to the blog! Okay, I admit that I got the idea from someone else, but it really has saved me. I can't imagine trying to remember all these blogs! That would make it even more difficult.

Anyway, no worries. :-)

It is so hard to keep up with all the commenting. At least you are giving it a shot though.

I had that same strategy too. But I fell off the wagon and I'm getting back on again. I got sidetracked with planting my garden (I ripped up my front yard to make it bigger) in the day and then at night all I wanted to do was sit and hang out with my husband. You do the best you can. I like your blogs. I'm here from NCLM. Good luck to you!!

It's a hard commitment to keep. I have also had to switch to a "light" version.

NCLM is hard for me too (visiting from NCLM btw)...I realized that I don't have to leave 5 comments on new blogs every single day, just 5 comments. My goal is to make it down the list and visit everyone once at least. Through the process I'm finding the people who I connect with, and I'm commenting more regularly with them. It's hard to leave intelligent comments for 200+ people...so I realized I won't try to make myself either.

This is sorta what I am doing...the one comment thing but there are some that I have gone back to read because I just HAD too!

Don't let the pressure get to you! This is supposed to be FUN! and I didn't even make the list. A day late and a dollar short! But it's been fun anyway!

NCLM is time consuming and I'm trying to keep up. So far, so good. Like Pepper I copied the list into an Excel spreadsheet so that I could mark the date I visited each blog and make comments on the ones I want to visit on a regular basis.
